Union University is a private, evangelical Christian university located in Jackson, Tennessee. As with previous responses, please note that my knowledge is current up to September 2021, and some information may have changed since then.
1. History: Union University was founded in 1823 as Jackson Male Academy, a Baptist-affiliated institution. In 1845, the academy was rechartered as Union University, and it has since maintained its affiliation with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Throughout its history, the university has relocated and merged with other institutions, ultimately settling in its current location in Jackson.
2. Campus: The main campus of Union University spans approximately 290 acres in Jackson.
